Energybid Customer Contract Summary

This summary is provided for convenience only and does not replace the full Terms and Conditions. If there is any conflict between this summary and the Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions shall prevail.

Who is Energybid?

Energybid is an independent utility procurement and auction platform that helps businesses compare and procure utility contracts including electricity, gas and other utility services.

Energybid is not an energy supplier and does not supply electricity, gas or any utility service directly.

How does Energybid work?

Energybid allows utility suppliers to compete for your business by submitting quotations through our procurement platform.

You can compare supplier offers and decide whether to proceed with a contract.

Any supply agreement is entered into directly between you and the selected supplier.

Does Energybid receive commission from suppliers?

No.

Unlike many traditional brokers, Energybid is funded entirely by fees paid directly by customers.

Energybid does not receive:

  • Supplier commissions
  • Brokerage payments
  • Referral fees
  • Rebates
  • Supplier incentives
  • Marketing payments

This means suppliers compete on a level playing field and Energybid remains independent throughout the procurement process.

What fees will I pay?

Energybid charges a transparent fixed fee based on the size of your utility consumption and the number of meters or sites being procured.

The applicable fee schedule is shown within the Terms and Conditions and will be disclosed before any charge is made.

VAT may be applicable in addition to the fees shown.

When do fees become payable?

Fees become payable once you accept a supplier quotation – these fees are paid through the platform on acceptance.

What happens if my switch or contract doesn't go ahead?

If a utility contract fails to complete for reasons outside your control, Energybid will allow you to choose between:

  • a refund of the fee paid in respect of the affected meter or service; or
  • a credit that can be used towards a future procurement exercise.

This protection does not apply where the failure results from information supplied by the customer, cancellation by the customer, credit issues or other customer-related factors.

Can I use Energybid's quotations and then contract directly with the supplier?

No.

Where Energybid introduces a supplier or obtains a quotation on your behalf, the agreed Energybid fee remains payable if you enter into a contract with that supplier within 12 months of the introduction.

This ensures the platform remains fair for all participants.

What information do I need to provide?

To obtain quotations, you may need to provide:

  • Business details
  • Site addresses
  • Meter information
  • Consumption information
  • Billing information
  • Existing supplier information

You must ensure that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

Will Energybid access my utility information?

Yes, where required.

By using the platform, you authorise Energybid to obtain information necessary to procure quotations and arrange supplier transfers.

This may include information from industry databases such as:

  • ECOES
  • Xoserve
  • Electralink
  • Companies House
  • HMRC

and other recognised industry sources where appropriate.

How is my data protected?

Energybid processes personal data in accordance with:

  • UK GDPR
  • Data Protection Act 2018
  • Energybid Privacy Policy

Information is only shared with suppliers and relevant parties where necessary to deliver the services you have requested.

Does Energybid guarantee savings?

No.

Energybid seeks to create a competitive procurement process, but savings cannot be guaranteed.

Any projections, analyses, estimates or savings calculations are provided for guidance only.

Is Energybid responsible for supplier performance?

No.

Energybid is not responsible for:

  • Supplier pricing decisions
  • Supplier service standards
  • Supplier financial performance
  • Supplier insolvency
  • Supplier operational failures

Can Energybid record calls and communications?

Yes.

Energybid may record telephone calls and retain electronic communications, platform activity and transaction records for:

  • Compliance
  • Quality assurance
  • Fraud prevention
  • Audit purposes
  • Dispute resolution

What if I have a complaint?

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the service, please contact:

Email: complaints@energybiduk.com

Energybid will investigate complaints fairly and seek to resolve them as quickly as reasonably possible.

What law governs the agreement?

The agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will generally be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.

Our Commitment to Independence

Energybid is independently funded by customer fees and receives no commission, rebate, referral payment or other financial incentive from utility suppliers. Suppliers compete transparently for your business through the Energybid platform, ensuring an impartial and competitive procurement process.
